Car Hits Snow Patch, Gets Demolished By Commuter Train In Holbrook

HOLBROOK (CBS) – Slick roads were blamed for a crash that sent a commuter train plowing into a car on Saturday.

Police say the rail gates at a crossing near Smith and High Streets in Holbrook were being deployed around 1 p.m. on Saturday when a car slid on snow and wound up stuck on the tracks.

The driver managed to get out of the car and get to safety before the train demolished the vehicle.

There were 37 passengers on board the train. No one was hurt.
