BOSTON (CBS) – State Police are investigating the death of a worker on the tarmac of Logan Airport.

It appears the worker, a 59-year-old Melrose resident, died after being hit by a truck that was backing up near a plane.

The crash happened between Terminal E and Logan’s cargo terminal Monday evening and appears to be an accident.

The man who was driving the truck was overwhelmed and taken to Mass General Hospital to be treated for stress. According to the Suffolk County DA, the 47-year-old driver showed no obvious signs of impairment but will be tested for drug and alcohol use.
