Father Of Marathon Bombing Suspect's Friend Demands Probe In Obama Letter

BOSTON (CBS/AP) - The father of a friend of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev has written a letter to President Obama demanding a full investigation into his son's death.

Ibragim Todashev was killed in May while FBI agents and police from Massachusetts and Florida questioned him at his Orlando apartment about his friendship with Tsarnaev and Tsarnaev's possible involvement in a triple murder in Waltham in 2011.

Officials originally said the Chechen man lunged at an agent with a knife during the interview. They later said it was no longer clear what happened.

Todashev's father, Abdul-Baki Todashev, wrote to the president recently in a letter published Monday by Boston Magazine.

"Did my son know that he had the right to remain silent or did he have rights at all, including the right to live?" he wrote.

The letter also included graphic photos from the shooting scene and autopsy pictures showing Toadshev was shot in the back of his head.

Abdul-Baki Todashev also claimed his son had 13 gunshot wounds and several bruises.

The father said many of his son's friends, including a live-in girlfriend, have been threatened and/or deported.

"I rely on you, Mr. President, and hope that the prosecutor's office and the court do not let the agencies conducting internal investigation on this case prevent the truth from coming to light," Todashev wrote.
