Active Week...

Enjoy today...30s don't sound that warm but they'll actually be the warmest temps of the week with an Arctic blast poised to arrive for the New Year.  The first wave of cold arrives New Year's Eve night...just as the ball is dropping...temps are expected to be around 20 degrees with the wind picking up.

New Year's Eve Temps
Bundle up for first night...temps no better than 20!

As the cold arrives it will kick off a few snow showers too.

New Year's Eve
Snow showers are possible for 1st night...

The cold will continue to build through the end of the week and a storm will be taking shape.  Energy from the north will link up with moisture from the south...the result a Nor'easter off of New England.  This will be a large, slow-moving storm capable of a lot of snow, damaging wind and coastal flooding.  At this point, there is confidence that a storm will form but the final track is still a bit elusive but this has the potential to be a biggie.

Late Week Storm
The main piece of energy is still about 3000 miles away so specifics are still sketchy.
