NH Police: Suspected OUI Driver Struck Cruiser, Kept Going

MERRIMACK, NH (CBS) – A suspected drunk driver slammed into a New Hampshire State Police cruiser early Saturday morning and kept on driving, police say.

Officials say the Trooper was traveling northbound on the Daniel Webster Highway when a vehicle headed southbound crossed the double yellow lines.

The Trooper swerved into the breakdown lane in an effort to avoid the car.

The car wound up sideswiping the cruiser.

The cruiser sustained some damage, but the Trooper was able to chase down the other driver involved in the crash about a mile away.

That driver was identified as Erick Wayman-Baxter, 20, 0f Hudson, New Hampshire.

He was arrested and charged with Underage DWI and Conduct After an Accident.

No one was injured in the crash.
