On Wednesday’s show, Adam Jones broke down why the trade for Omer Asik failed to materialize.
“We’re probably talking about a pick in this year’s draft [that Houston wanted],” Jones said. “Wouldn’t you think that’s what Houston wanted? If Danny Ainge wanted that protected, good for him. … The fact that you have all these unprotected picks from Brooklyn, they’re good as gold. You have a potential lottery ticket — especially three to five years from now, after [Paul] Pierce and [Keving] Garnett retire or are at the very, very back end of their careers — who knows where those picks are going to wind up?”
