BOSTON (CBS) – In a move that has caused some controversy, the Obama administration has extended a permit system that allows wind farms to kill eagles and other birds without fear of being prosecuted for up to thirty years. The Audubon Society, which has supported shorter permits in the past, has been critical of the move and the environmental implications. David Yarnold, the National Audubon Society President, joins NightSide to explain the new rules and why he thinks it’s a bad idea.
