Man Charged With Abuse Of Puppy Doe May Have Stolen $100K From Elderly Woman

BOSTON (CBS) ---The man accused of torturing a dog may also have stolen from an elderly woman.

Radoslaw Czerkawski pleaded not guilty at his Thursday arraignment.

The courtroom was packed with people who are disturbed by the dog's abuse and death.

Prosecutors say Czerkawski may have stolen at least $100,000 from an elderly woman whom he was caring for.

The dog, nicknamed "Puppy Doe," had to be put down because it was so sick.

Police say the elderly woman died, the same day Puppy Doe was found.

Police have said Czerkawski is also wanted for stealing $6,000 from a New Bedford church.
