Bradley Jay: “Pay Attention To The Little Things”
We commute, work, eat, and sleep. And somewhere in between, we live. Living is the stuff that happens between the stuff. Living is the little things, like the smell of morning coffee, a roast in the oven, or a log on the fireplace. It is a garden tomato in August, garlic in the air in the North End, and hot rain on hot pavement. The richness of life can be found in the thin layer of mortar between the building blocks of the daily grind. It is the glue that binds the main events of the human experience.
Recently I took stock of the nuances of my life that make it resonate. The list includes making music, riding for days on a train, talking to interesting people when shooting the Jay Talking videos, hugging my sweetheart and the pups, snowshoeing in the White Mountains, and the great feeling after working out at the gym. Oh, and sharing all this on the radio.
How about you? What is the spice in your life that makes getting up in the morning worth the trouble for you?
