Wellesley Police Seek Bank Robbery Suspect

WELLESLEY (CBS) -- Police are seeking a man who robbed the TD Bank North on Worcester Street on Sunday afternoon.

At about 1:54 p.m., Wellesley Police officers were dispatched to the TD Bank North located at 999 Worcester St. for a reported bank robbery, the police said in a prepared statement.

The suspect was described by bank employees as a white man, 25 to 35 years of age and about 6-feet tall with a slim build. He was wearing a long, dark-colored pea coat style winter coat, a light brown scarf with a Burberry type pattern, a light brown scally cap, dark rimmed eye glasses and black gloves, the witnesses said. The suspect appeared to have neck-length brown hair and some facial hair.

The man passed a note to a teller, but no weapon was visible. The suspect is believed to have fled toward Overbrook Drive on foot after leaving the bank.

Officers from the Natick Police Department and Massachusetts State Police assisted with the search. A representative from the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force also responded to the crime scene.

Investigators are asking that anyone who has information about the robbery contact the Wellesley Police Department.
