BOSTON (CBS) – MBTA Red Line trains were back up and running after a suspicious item discovered on board a train at Park Street station brought service to a halt.
According to authorities, the bomb squad found a duffel bag with wires protruding out of it. Canisters were found inside the bag.
The MBTA website stated that the Red Line was “experiencing severe delays” due to the situation. Residual delays were expected to continue through rush hour.
MBTA police say the item in question was x-rayed and deemed to be safe.
