Fund Set Up To Aid Victims of Lynn House Fire

LYNN (CBS) -- There's some good coming out of several families' heartbreak.

In the wake of a massive fire Tuesday that destroyed a multifamily home on Chestnut street, the community is banding together to help.

A Go Fund Me donation page has been set up for the victims.

"I lost everything," Saphanna Ny, who lived in the house with her 4-year-old daughter and boyfriend, told WBZ-TV. "I had no shoes, nothing."

The page has so far, raised $3,675 for the three families who lived in the house, over halfway to the goal of $5,000.

"I am so thankful for everyone, even our neighbors that we don't even know. They came to help. Red Cross has helped us. Every little penny counts," Ny said.

The Red Cross has been footing the bill for hotel rooms but after Thursday night, the funding runs out, leaving the families scrambling.

Cammilla Chau, lived on the second floor of the house with her family.

"I want to thank everyone. People are so kind, genuine," Chau said.

For now, the families hope for a little help this holiday season.
