Mother, Daughter Injured After Falling From NH Ski Lift

BENNINGTON, NH (CBS) – A mother and her six-year-old daughter were injured when they fell 40 feet from a ski lift at Crotched Mountain. The incident happened at about 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators aren't sure what caused the mother and daughter to fall. Crotched Mountain Ski and Ride General Manager Patrick Terry says the lift they were on was immediately checked out and there were no mechanical issues.

The mother was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The child was flown by helicopter to Manchester.

The pair was on their way to the intermediate and experienced runs when this happened, so it's believed they had skied before.

The extent of their injuries is unknown, but Patrick Terry believes they will be okay.
