6-Year-Old Creates Petition To Save NASA

DENVER, Colo. (CBS) --- A 6-year-old Denver boy is on a mission to save NASA.

Connor Johnson is concerned about the future of the space program.

Recently, congress cut some of NASA's funding so Johnson decided to take action.

He started an online petition on the White House website. That petition now has more than 4,700 signatures.

In order to get a response from the White House, the petition needs 100,000 signatures.

For the record, Johnson wants to be an astronaut when he grows up.

"The whole reason I want to be an astronaut so I can discover, like, new worlds," he says.

To sign the petition, go to the White House website.
