A Mild Week...

It doesn't feel like Summer but it certainly is better than the deep freeze we've been in over the last 10 days.  The pattern has flipped this week with the West getting slammed with cold and the East much milder.  This pattern will hold all week-long before breaking down over the weekend.

Late in the week, as the cold gets closer, the temperature contrast will promote a zone of storminess.  With temps still mild we'll only have to worry about rain with the first batch Thursday morning along a warm front.  The second batch will be more robust along a slow-moving cold front and will take up most of Friday.

The front will slide south of us Friday night and cold air will work in over the weekend.  An area of high pressure will lock the cold in on Sunday as a storm system works our way from the south.  This will set the stage for potentially our first Winter Storm of the season which would include an icy mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain Sunday night and Monday.
