Woman Hit By Car After Stopping To Help Deer In Duxbury

DUXBURY (CBS) --- A woman was hit by a car after she had stopped to help a deer.

Police say the woman and several other Good Samaritans had stopped along Route 53 to help a deer that had been hit by a car and was lying in the roadway.

The volunteers moved the dead deer out of the roadway.

When the woman went to cross the road to get back to her car, she was hit by a Toyota Rav4. The driver stopped to help the woman.

She was taken to South Shore Hospital with injuries. Her condition is unknown.

Police say no charges have been filed against the driver that hit the woman. At the time of the crash, it was raining and dark and the area is not well-lit.
