Man Robs Haverhill Convenience Store At Gunpoint
HAVERHILL (CBS) --- Police are investigating a violent armed robbery at a convenience store in Haverhill.
The whole thing caught of camera, a masked gunman entered Bradford Shell Gas and Convenience Store on South Main Street, while on his cell phone.
Police say the female clerk didn't take the guy seriously at first, even though he showed a weapon.
The man then fired a round into the wall behind her, yelling 'This is not a joke.'
Police say he repeated that, several times while demanding cash.
The clerk immediately punched in a code and pulled out the cash drawers, emptying the cash onto the counter.
The man scooped up the money, and fled the store.
He's described as a white man, 5'8" around 30-to-40 years old. He was wearing a dark-colored Cardhartt vest, faded blue jeans, gray sneakers with white soles and had a tattooed left hand. He was wearing a wedding ring.
Newburyport Police say the suspect is similar to the man who robbed convenience stores in Newburyport and Seabrook, New Hampshire in the last week.
