Couple Steals Beagle From Adoption Center In Methuen

METHUEN (CBS) – The MSPCA is looking for the couple that walked into an adoption center and stole a beagle.

Update: Beagle Returned To Adoption Center

Surveillance cameras captured the theft at Nevins Farm in Methuen on Saturday.

The MSPCA says the couple, who appears to be in their 60s, were in the lobby before the man walked out the back door with a beagle named Sophie.

The couple drove off in a silver Jeep Liberty.

The MSPCA says this is the third dog stolen from Nevins Farm in the last year, though the other dogs were quickly returned.

This time, it appears that the couple planned the theft and even brought their own leash.

"It was interesting to see how determined they were," said Mike Keilly of Nevins Farm. "They weren't slowed down by anything, it was clear that the woman was the lookout and the guy was doing the thieving."

Anyone who recognizes the couple is asked to call Officer Nicolisi at the Methuen Police Department at 978-983-8698.
