Man Stabbed Outside Milk Street Bar

BOSTON (CBS) — A man was stabbed outside Coogan’s Bar on Milk Street after a fight early Sunday.

It happened at about 12:35 a.m.

When police arrived, they found a man in his 20’s suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to Mass. General Hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses told police the suspect left the area in a cab. Police later caught up with Peter J. Damelio, 38, of Newton, and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

According to police, a fight broke out when the victim confronted Damelio and another man who were trying to cut the bar’s line.
The suspect became angry and punched one man in the face multiple times. The man then pulled a knife and lunged toward the victim, stabbing him in the torso.

Damelio is expected to appear in Boston Municipal Court on Monday.
