Franklin School Custodian Arrested For Child Porn

FRANKLIN (CBS) - Parents in Franklin are getting some disturbing news about a town employee who worked as a school custodian.

Police arrested 45-year-old Michael Silvia for allegedly uploading child pornography on his home computer in Taunton.

"At this time, we are not aware of any facts or allegations that would lead us to believe that any Franklin Public School student or staff member has been impacted, as this individual worked on the late shift when school was not in session," said the letter from School Superintendent Maureen Sabolinski and Town Administrator Jeff Nutting. The letter goes on to say he worked a late shift when school was not in session.

Police tell WBZ they arrested Silvia Tuesday at his home. They say the department investigated him after getting a tip from a cyber safety watchdog group. He's facing a charge of possession of child pornography.
