Mainly Quiet Weather This Weekend

It's a pleasure to be with you on my first weekend shift as a WBZ AccuWeather Meteorologist! Typically, I'll be doing weather trivia…but today, Anchor Kate Merrill and I had some fun on the show so you could get to know me a little better.  Here were today's questions…I'll give you the answers tomorrow!

Now, for the forecast! It's fairly smooth sailing through the weekend with mostly dry weather expected. The key word there is *mostly*.  Today, clouds will be on the increase out ahead of an area of low pressure moving in from the Great Lakes.  The clouds are actually a sign of relatively milder air that will move in tomorrow. Aside from a stray sprinkle tonight, mainly north of the MA Pike, we'll be dry with lots of clouds and lows around 40 (30s in the 'burbs).  Tomorrow there may be an isolated shower as well, but anything that does develop will be brief, so it won't ruin your day.  We'll be pretty seasonable too…highs top out in the low to mid 50s. Sunday night into Monday morning, the wind is going to kick up and gust at times over 30 mph, so make sure to be bundle up for any early Veteran's Day plans you may have.  The wind will subside pretty substantially Monday afternoon with increasing clouds and highs in the low 50s.   BIG changes are in store for Tuesday though…early morning rain and yes, SNOW showers mark the leading edge of much colder air. Our highs will struggle to reach 40 Tuesday…and Wednesday as well.   A big area of high pressure builds in for the end of next week which means plenty of sunshine and gradually moderating temperatures; we'll be around 50 again by Friday.

Also, for all those winter sports fans and snow lovers out there…northern New England is going to pick up 1-3" in the mountains with 3-6" in the summits this weekend!
