Child Seriously Hurt After Being Struck By Car In Worcester

WORCESTER (CBS) - A mother and her child were rushed to the hospital after they were struck by a car in a Worcester driveway Friday afternoon.

According to police, it appears that a vehicle traveled down a sloping driveway near the intersection of Bjorklund Ave and Chester Street. EMS performed CPR on the 18-month-old boy before he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The boy, who has been identified as Bennett Roaf, died at the hospital Friday night.

A neighbor told WBZ-TV that the car rolled over the boy.

The mother of the child was also taken to hospital to be treated for a shoulder injury.

It is unclear what caused the car to roll down the hill. Worcester Police are on scene investigating.
