Jeweler Crafts Gifts For Families Of Boston Marathon Bombing Victims
BOSTON (CBS) -- A city jeweler is reaching out to the families of the Boston Marathon bombing victims, hoping to heal some of their pain through his craft.
Jeweler Arto Hachikian has made three pieces of jewelry for those killed or injured by the marathon bombers: an American flag honors MBTA Transit Police Officer Richard Donohue, three children holding hands pays tribute to 8-year-old bombing victim Martin Richard, and a ring features the name and badge number of MIT Police Officer Sean Collier.
Despite her grief, Collier's mother, Kelley, is wearing the ring proudly.
Hachikian was paralyzed from the chest down in a 2002 car crash, and he identifies with the severe injuries suffered in the twin bombings near the Boston Marathon finish line.
"I respect their pain; I respect their life," Hachikian said. "God help them."
