NH Ski Resort Vandals Cause $20K In Damages

Manchester, N.H. (CBS) -- Three juveniles are believed to be responsible for vandalizing the McIntyre Ski Area in Manchester, New Hampshire.

On Tuesday afternoon, McIntyre posted on their Facebook page that the vandals had been caught.

Surveillance video caught much of the destruction.

The three can be seen using a shovel and a long metal object to break into a maintenance building. Once inside, they can be seen opening drawers and lockers and using a can of spray paint to deface jackets, the floor, and some of the snow grooming equipment.

They eventually took the keys to a dump truck and went on a joy ride around the property, crashing into part of the maintenance building, a wooden gate and a fence. They abandoned the truck at the top of the slope.

Ross Boisvert, general manager for McIntyre, estimates about $20,000 worth of damage.

"I just think it's kids not having anything to do and getting into trouble," said Boisvert. "The whole thing just doesn't make sense."

Manchester Police say they have identified one of the teens as a 15 year old.

Boisvert says the vandalism will not delay the start of ski season.
