Tisei Eyes 2nd Run For Congress In Mass.

WAKEFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Former state Sen. Richard Tisei has taken a step toward another potential run for the U.S. House.

The Republican from Wakefield announced on Monday that he had formed a congressional committee and filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.

Tisei lost a close race last year in the state's 6th congressional district to incumbent Democratic Rep. John Tierney.

In a statement, Tisei said formation of the committee would allow him to actively explore a run for the seat in 2014. He said he hoped to make a formal announcement about his plans before the winter.

Tisei served in the Legislature for 26 years and was the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor in 2010.
