Obama Coming To Boston On Wednesday To Discuss Affordable Care Act

BOSTON (CBS) -- President Barack Obama will hold a health care event in Boston on Wednesday, a White House official told CBS.

Obama is expected to speak at Fanueil Hall, where former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney signed his own version of health care reform into law in 2006. The federal Affordable Care Act and Massachusetts' health care law have several similarities, including a mandate for all consumers to purchase health insurance.

The Obama administration is under intense scrutiny following the shaky debut earlier this month of the website that allows consumers to sign up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace.

The president's address on health care is slated for the same day U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is expected to testify before Congress. Sebelius is likely to receive harsh questioning over the Affordable Care Act website.
