Tom Brady Picks 'Red Sox In Five' In World Series

BOSTON (CBS) – Don't let the New York Yankees hat you occasionally see atop Tom Brady's head fool you; the Patriots quarterback is a Red Sox fan.

He's even predicting another World Series title for Boston's baseball team, as the Red Sox and Cardinals get set to face off in Game 1 of the fall classic on Wednesday night at Fenway.

"Red Sox, man. Red Sox in five," Brady said as he walked off the Gillette Stadium podium on Wednesday. "We'll give [the Cardinals] one."

"I know tonight is a big night. Everyone is rooting for the Red Sox," Brady said. "That's our team. I've been here awhile so I've gotten to see quite a few Red Sox games over the years and watched them win a few championships. You don't take these for granted because you don't know if they'll come again."

Brady said he is most impressed with the turnaround the Red Sox have pulled off, going from one of baseball's worst teams in 2012 to winning the AL Pennant in 2013.

"What they've done, based on what happened last year, shows everybody what fighting through adversity is all about," Brady said. "They obviously have a lot of mental toughness and it's a great thing to see and a great thing to watch."

"Hopefully they pull it off," said Brady.
