The Bruins are 5-2 on the season and face some strong teams before the end of the month.
One of those teams coming up is the San Jose Sharks, who are 8-0-1. Is this Sharks team for real and will they be able to sustain this for a season?
“They’re awesome right now,” hockey analyst Billy Jaffe told 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich.
“They are deeper than ever,” Jaffe added. “This team is playing with more physical determination, they’re fast as everything, and in every category they’re clicking.”
The Bruins do have to play the Buffalo Sabres the night before hosting the Sharks and Jaffe warns that the B’s need to keep that game in mind.
“This is a huge game against San Jose, but don’t look past Buffalo to get to San Jose because otherwise you’ll get upset by what’s the worst team in hockey on Wednesday night.”
The B’s record to start the season is pretty good having struggled at points during games. Are the Bruins are as good as their 5-2 record suggests?
“I think they are, I do. I’m a fan of this team, that doesn’t always mean it’s going to be easy. Brad Marchand is still only on one goal, he played better on Saturday night. The offense did kick it in against Tampa winning 5-0.”
Jaffe does point out that Boston has only played seven games while some teams are at 11 or 12 already. Maybe at game 20 or 25 if the offense is struggling to get the job done then there can be some concern, only time will tell.
