He’s also asking everyone to wear red on Wednesday to support the players.
Police Superintendent Daniel Linskey says Boston police have already met with bar owners and will meet with college and university officials to talk about curbing underage drinking and keeping students safe.
He says there will be enhanced police presence for the first two games and everyone will be working if there is a clinching game in Boston.
According to the plan, fans will not be able to enter bars or restaurants around Fenway after the seventh inning and parking garages will be closed during the seventh inning of a clinching game to allow pedestrians access to the street.
Sports championship celebrations in Boston in the past decade have resulted in violence and even death.
