ANDOVER, Mass. (AP) — State police say a Saugus man has died after his SUV rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Interstate 93 south in Andover.

Police say 37-year-old Louis Kardoose was in the right travel lane at about 1:25 a.m. Monday just south of Interstate 495 when he struck the rear of the tractor-trailer.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

What caused Kardoose to strike the rear of the truck remains under investigation.

Two lanes of the highway as well as the breakdown lane were closed for about three hours during the investigation and cleanup.
