HOPKINTON (CBS) — An overturned tractor-trailer shut down the ramp from Interstate 495 southbound to the Massachusetts Turnpike Thursday afternoon.
State Police say no other vehicles were involved in the rollover, which happened just before the entrance to the tolls around 1 p.m.
A man and woman, both 65 years old, were in the truck.
Both were taken to UMass Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The truck was carrying glass containers, police said.
State Police say speed does appear to be a factor in the crash.
State Police tweeted that the clean up will take an “extended time” and drivers should avoid the area if possible.
Police later said in a press release, it would likely take several hours before the ramp re-opens.
I-495 southbound is open and traffic is moving freely but there are some delays on the Mass. Pike and I-495 northbound as cleanup continues.
