Taunton Man Arrested For Burglary, 'Person Of Interest' In Sex Assault

TAUNTON (CBS) – Taunton police have arrested a man in connection with a series of break-ins and he's also a "person of interest" in a sexual assault in the same area.

Miguel Erickson, 43, of Taunton, was captured Saturday and was held at held at the Bristol County House of Correction over the weekend.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday in Taunton District Court.

He was ordered held on $250,000 bail.

Police say they found items in Erickson's apartment that link him to a burglary on Winthrop Street.

He's also suspect in break-ins nearby on Barnum and Clinton Streets in the last two weeks.

In one of the robberies, a woman was sexually assaulted.

Police say no one has been charged in that incident yet, but added in a statement that "Erickson remains a strong person of interest in that case and several others that we are still pursuing."
