Backhoe Ruptures Gas Line On Comm. Ave.

BOSTON (CBS) --- Crews were on the scene of a gas line leak near 1867 Commonwealth Avenue.

It happened shortly after noon as a backhoe was removing a large tree stump in the front yard of the home.

Boston Fire says the backhoe ruptured the gas line.

No injuries were reported.

Area homes and apartments were evacuated as a precaution. Some MBTA Trolleys were delayed.

National Grid was at the scene.
