Man Accused Of Stealing Boston Police Cruiser Held On $150,000 Bail
BOSTON (CBS) – A South Boston man who allegedly stole a police cruiser is facing attempted murder charges.
Wilfredo Rodriguez, 37, was held on $150,000 cash bail Monday.
Police were responding to a break-in early Saturday morning in South Boston when Rodriguez allegedly jumped in a cruiser. He is accused of hitting the officer, then trying to run him down a second time as police opened fire.
Rodriguez crashed the cruiser by the JFK MBTA station.
If Rodriguez makes bail, he's been ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device.
