Power Goes Out Briefly At Topsfield Fair

TOPSFIELD (CBS) – The power went out at the Topsfield Fair Sunday afternoon.

The fair remained open during the outage, which hit at approximately 12:30 p.m. and affected about 1,200 customers in town.

Some vendors were temporarily closed and agricultural buildings used emergency lighting until the power came back on around 2 p.m.

"The outage occurred off site and was out of the fair's control. National Grid fixed the outage," said the fair's spokesman David Thomson.

There's still no word on what caused the problem.
