Boston Police K9 Bushido is a patrol dog in narcotics detection and now one of the 500 million Twitter users.

Since joining Twitter Tuesday, Bushido has more than 800 followers.

On Wednesday he announced the dog days of summer were back with temperatures expected in the 80’s.

Bushido’s Twitter profile says when he’s not keeping the city safe, he’s modeling so it only makes sense he has friends in high places.

Some of his first tweets were to New England Patriot Vince Wilfork and actor, producer and singer Donnie Wahlberg.

The tweet makes reference to Wilfork’s season-ending injury.

Wahlberg is the producer of Boston’s Finest, a television series that follows the lives of Boston Police officers.

Of course, the K9 is still getting the hang of Twitter. Bushido tweeted, it’s harder for him than it looks.
