WRENTHAM, Mass. (AP) — Former Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown has put his Massachusetts home on the market, further fueling speculation about his political future.

An open house was held Sunday at the 3,020-square-foot, four-bedroom Colonial in Wrentham.

The asking price is $559,900.

Brown refused to disclose why he’s selling, telling The Republican newspaper of Springfield that “it’s personal.”

Brown and his wife, television reporter Gail Huff, raised two daughters in the home. They also have a vacation home in Rye, N.H.

The Massachusetts house was a key part of Brown’s man-of-the-people image, along with his barn coat and pickup truck, in 2010 when in an upset he won the Senate seat previously held by Democrat Edward M. Kennedy. He lost to Democrat Elizabeth Warren last year.

Brown, now working for a private law firm and as a paid commentator for Fox News, has been mentioned as a possible candidate for office in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and even as a possible presidential candidate.

He told supporters at the Iowa State Fair in August that he is “exploring a possible run” for president in 2016. But he said in a radio interview in August that he had no plans to run for governor of Massachusetts.

Listing agent Lisa Palioca says the home has been on the market since last Tuesday and is “getting plenty of interest.”
