Levan Reid On The Adam Jones Show: Will Gronk Play Against Falcons?

BOSTON (CBS) - WBZ-TV's Levan Reid joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's The Adam Jones Show on Thursday night to answer the question that everyone wants the answer to: will Gronk play this weekend?

We'll know more when the Friday injury report comes out, but Levan is almost certain Gronk will be on the field this weekend.

"This week he gave more information on what it took for him to get back. It wasn't about his back or about his arm, it was about everything; he had to get his legs going, he had to get his body going," explained Reid. "Do I expect him to play? Yeah. As we're winding down (to kickoff) we're going to start to hear that he's closer to go."

What can we expect to see from Gronk after his off-season filled with surgeries and rehab?

"The Patriot Way is if you're on the field, you play 100 percent," said Reid. "He's in the running game, and that's where they miss him the most. He's in all of their packages pretty much. When he gets out there I think 50-60 plays, but he needs to be as close to 100 percent as possible when he's out there."

While the Falcons pack a punch on offense, Reid says the Patriots should take a page out of the Dolphins' playbook and keep Matt Ryan and company off the field.

"You just watched Miami just pick those young corners apart. They took their time to get down the field and the Patriots will have to do the same thing," he said. "Miami decided they were going to sustain drives and keep Matt Ryan and the offense off the field, and that's what the Patriots have to do. Sustain those drives, and even if you only get three points make it a 13 play drive that runs seven minutes."

Reid also talks about the continuity in the Patriots' defense, and how that is paying dividends this season:
