$26,000 Raised For Family Of Hopkinton Teen Killed In Bike Crash

HOPKINTON (CBS) – More than $26,000 has been raised in an online fund to help the family of a boy killed in a tragic bike accident last week.

Shayne Desroches, 13, of Hopkinton was riding his bike on Hayden Rowe Street near his home September 18 when he was hit by a car driven by a 16-year-old girl.

His funeral was held Tuesday.

Alisa Wade, a family friend, set up a gofundme.com page to help the family with their expenses. The goal was to raise $25,000.

More than $26,000 had been pledged by midday Tuesday.
