DANVERS (CBS) – Danvers Police have released a sketch of the man who allegedly pretended to be a police officer and then groped a woman.

The man was reportedly driving a black Dodge Charger with blue grill lights and stopped a driver on State Road, near the intersection of Route 128 and Elliott Street, around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim said the man was wearing a dark colored uniform with a badge and identified himself as a police officer. She said the man demanded she get out of her car and put her hands on the hood of the vehicle. After she did, he groped her, police said.

The man then went back to his car and drove off. The woman went to the police department and reported the incident.

She described him as 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, medium build, somewhat muscular and had dark hair and she described more of a deep Boston accent. The man was white and in his 20’s. The victim indicated that the suspect’s most distinguishing feature to her was his nose, which was described as “upturned.”

Danvers Police Chief Neil Ouellette said they have already received tips about the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 978-774-1388 or submit an anonymous tip at danverspolice.com.
