Boston Police Release Image Of Car In Attempted Abduction

BOSTON (CBS) – Police have released an image of the car believed to be connected to an attempted abduction that happened in Boston Thursday afternoon.

A woman says a man tried to pull her into his car as she was walking down Southampton Street right near the fire department.

The surveillance image released by police appears to be that of a Scion XB. The woman says the passenger seat may have been removed from the car.

She says the driver pulled over and asked if she needed a ride. When she said no, she claims he reached across the seat and grabbed her by the head and neck trying to pull her inside. She was able to escape unharmed and reported the incident to police.

Police say her attacker was a light skinned, clean shaven, Hispanic male wearing a white t-shirt.

Police want you call them with any information at 1(800) 494-TIPS (8477) or by texting the word 'TIP' to CRIME (27463).
