Felger & Mazz: September 18, 2013

Felger and Massarotti kicked off the day discussing the Boston Red Sox, the upcoming playoff run, and the future of the team. Tonight the Sox have the opportunity to clinch a playoff spot with a win over the Baltimore Orioles. Is this Sox team built to last? The Sox have a decent amount of short-term contracts on the books. Do the Red Sox have any long-term contract players on the current roster? In last night's loss, Koji Uehara's streak of retiring 37 batters came to an end. Is it a good thing that the streak came to an end? Finally, the guys check in with NESN to find out about the new bathrooms at Fenway Park.

Hour 1

In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continued to discuss the Red Sox and Jacoby Ellsbury. There are only 10 regular season games left and Ellsbury has yet to begin baseball activities. What can we expect to see from Ellsbury when he returns? Will Ellsbury be ready for the postseason? To wrap up the hour, Mike and Tony listen to a couple different calls on an Alex Rodriguez line out.

Hour 2

Paul Perillo from Patriots Football Weekly joined Felger and Massarotti during Hour 3 to talk some New England Patriots. Danny Amendola is still practicing, but may not be back for a couple of weeks. How should the Patriots handle Amendola? Do the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pose a threat to the Pats this Sunday? Who are the biggest threats to the Patriots in the AFC?

Hour 3

In the fourth and final hour, Mike and Tony discussed the Red Sox and tonight's Beard Night. The guys also talked about the difference between team chemistry and team character. What's more important in making a team successful? Chemistry or character? Will Jacoby Ellsbury be ready for the playoffs? Felger and Massarotti continued to take calls on the Patriots and Danny Amendola's injury. Finally, it's the Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
