Wednesday's Child: 11-Year-Old Janelly

BOSTON (CBS) - Janelly is a bright and cheerful 11-year-old Hispanic girl. She demonstrates tremendous talent in painting and drawing and considers herself an artist. Janelly enjoys making all kinds of art, as well as baking and cooking. Recently, she tried her hand at creating pottery and loved it. Janelly also likes caring for animals and would love to work with animals someday. Known for her empathy and desire to be helpful, Janelly would be a wonderful addition to a permanent, adoptive family.

Janelly is generally very sweet and is working on her challenges through therapy. She does best with clear boundaries and limits, like the ones set for her at school and in her residential program. Janelly would be most successful being the only or youngest child in a home with a mother and father or a single mother. She is legally free for adoption and will need to visit with her birth family several times a year.

To learn more about Janelly, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
