HINGHAM (CBS) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of carjacking and assaulting an 85-year-old woman in Hingham on Friday.

Police are searching for 20-year-old Jerry Irvin Anitus of Brockton. Anitus is black, approximately six feet tall and 190 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous.

On Friday, police say Anitus threw the woman to the ground and stole her car from the parking lot of the Linden Ponds residential complex. Anitus and another man, Angelo Ayuso, allegedly robbed a Weymouth store before the assault. Ayuso was arrested and charged in the robbery.

The carjacking victim has been released from Mass General Hospital. Her injuries include severe swelling and bruising on her body.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s current location is urged to call 911 immediately.
