BOSTON (CBS) – Fullback James Develin is once again a New England Patriot, the team announced on Friday.
Develin, who was released by the Patriots on Sept. 2, spent most of the 2012 season on the New England practice squad. He spent four weeks on the 53-man roster, seeing his lone game-action in New England’s December 16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
The 6-3, 255-pound Develin started in the NFL in 2010, joining the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad for the final five games after playing for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League. He spent the entire 2011 season with Cincinnati on the practice squad and signed with New England’s practice squad last September after being released by the Bengals.
Tale of the Tape: Patriots vs. Bills
Develin rushed for six yards on three carries, and caught three passes for 15 yards and a touchdown for the Patriots during the preseason.
