Toucher & Rich: Rick Reilly's Terrible Story About College Athletes
Rick Reilly has often found himself the butt of jokes on Toucher & Rich, and his alter ego -- Vick Reilly -- has occasionally bombed at open mic comedy nights as well, thanks to the program.
But Reilly's latest story -- which praised four college athletes from William Paterson University for not shoplifting at a store -- was too bad for Fred to ignore.
The story details four football players who entered a store, unknowingly after it had closed. With no cashiers to take their money, they left cash on the counter and left.
"Imagine young men paying for items they took from a store! This is unbelievable!" Fred exclaimed. "Rick, you have finally found something to warm our souls! What a feel-good story! Something that everybody does every single day!"
As if that wasn't enough, Reilly ended his story by quoting a player who said "You can't judge a book by its cover." Reilly then wrote: "Somewhere, I hope George Zimmerman is listening."
