Tebow Thanks Patriots Over Twitter Following Release
BOSTON (CBS) – Shortly after his release by the New England Patriots, Tim Tebow thanked the organization for the opportunity over Twitter.
“I would like to thank Mr. Kraft, Coach Belichick, Coach McDaniels and the entire Patriots organization for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a classy organization,” Tebow Tweeted. “I pray for nothing but the best for you all. I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback.”
Tebow was part of New England’s cuts on Saturday as they trimmed their roster to the NFL-mandated 53 players.
As New England’s third-string quarterback this preseason, Tebow finished 11-for-30 (36.7 percent) for 145 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in three games. He rushed for 91 yards on 16 carries, but was also sacked four times for a loss of 48 yards.
