REVERE, Mass. (AP) — Suffolk Downs says it has reached a host community agreement with Revere that would provide an estimated $15 million in annual revenue to the city if a casino is built at the thoroughbred race track.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Lana Jones reports

The deal was announced on Wednesday, one day after Suffolk Downs and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino announced a similar host community agreement that includes estimated annual payments of $52 million to Boston.

The track straddles the East Boston neighborhood and Revere. Voters in both communities must approve the separate agreements before Suffolk Downs, which is partnering with Caesars Entertainment, can apply to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for the sole eastern Massachusetts resort casino license.

The track is also promising to create 4,000 permanent jobs and make traffic improvements.
