Methuen Police Investigate Man's Body Found in River

METHUEN (CBS) -- The body of a man was found in the Spicket River late Sunday afternoon, the police said.

Methuen Police Chief Joseph Solomon said the remains of a white man in his 60s were pulled from the river at about 6:45 p.m. He said the body was being taken to the state Medical Examiner's Office.

Solomon said the circumstances of the man's death are under investigation.

A Methuen crime scene investigation truck was dispatched to aid in the probe along with members of the Massachusetts State Police, including at least one diver.
