Mass. Hikers Rescued From NH Mountain
RANDOLPH, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire officials say three Boston men are safe after getting lost while hiking Mount Adams.
The Fish and Game Department says 25-year-old Kellum Ho, 25-year-old Tou Chen and 24-year-old Viet Nguyen hiked to the top of the mountain on Saturday but lost the trail on the way down. When darkness fell, they called 911.
With temperatures forecast to fall into the 30s, Fish and Game officers, U.S. Forest Service officers and the Randolph police chief set out to find the hikers, locating them and leading them out late Saturday night after they relayed their geographic coordinates using a GPS.
Mount Adams is the second-highest mountain in New Hampshire, behind Mount Washington.
